Fresh Perspective

In my truth

my eyes see

the world from

a perspective

painted with a

palette of colors

I’ve collected

over the years

Habits and routines

dull my senses and

smooth the edges

blurring reality

until it melds

to the expected

making the authentic

Stepping into

your view

my eyes may sting

as they adjust

to visions

I had never

As I experience

I’d never imagined

smeared with

glorious hues

I have yet

to name

Although we may

stand on opposite sides

to look at the world

with borrowed vision

the truth remains

the same

Sometimes all

it takes is

a fresh perspective

to see it
