Life Invested

Life Invested

It whispers in the background

Static, a constant companion

Biding its time patiently

waiting to strike

And when the moment comes…

When you draw your final breath

alone in the middle of the night

Will satisfaction be yours?

Did you color outside the lines

to create a masterpiece

of your own design

with all the broken pieces?

Did you answer the call

when beauty beckoned,

inviting you to find serenity

among chaos?

Did you fight the mighty battle

to deny mechanical routines,

choosing instead to sharpen

all the dull edges?

Life celebrates each moment

Static, a constant companion

Marking time patiently

inviting you to strike

    • Thank you! I enjoyed your poem. You spoke eloquently about making wise decisions. Although I have a few tattoos (lol), I was very careful about where I placed them and agree with everything you said. Good read, especially for the younger people who may not think about future impacts.

      • Hello Stepsx2……I have been stacking your last 8+ poems to find quiet time to let your words and concepts seep into my being and that is why I am only reacting now.

I like the concepts you explore….time, fear, hope….and have resonance with these.

I wish I could choose words as well as you and some others that I follow do….they ring bells in me. One day, I hope to settle into writing as now I am expressing myself through actions and painting.

Your concepts in your poems do influence my daily thoughts in positive ways.

May you be blessed as each day begins.

      • Thank you for your kind words. I am touched. You just made my day.

It means a lot to me that my poems are able to connect to people. Your artwork does the same. I’m thankful we live in a time where we can all share such things.

        Blessings to you as well,

        Michele
