He is invisible as they pass by
Splayed on the sidewalk
He’s just another lost cause
A reminder of what could be
as they chase paper ambitions
Once a little boy with hopes and dreams
Playing on the sidewalk
He’s just another statistic
A tally on the list of failures
as they work to build their balance sheet
Approaching his last days
perhaps dying there on the sidewalk
He’s just another man, flesh and blood
A person worthy of compassion
as they cultivate cold hearts and closed minds

You draw out compassion from us well…..and nudge us to action of some kind for such situations….

Thanks. My husband took the picture just outside his restaurant. The image really bothered me. No one starts out with the intention of ending up like that.
