Threads of late summer weave

through this forest of green as

I wander through trails of

tender grasses and celebrate the

synchronicity of cool breezes in

a world without care

Serendipity brought me here –

This perfect place to get lost

I take a whimsical chance to cross that

rickety bridge by the babbling brook

Its rhythm in perfect harmony

with the laughter of my soul

Immersed in the quiet –

a refuge from a busy life –

Helps me find the melodies of songs

silenced for too long

A walk in the woods brings 

renewal to a weary heart
