It’s all the same
except when it’s not
A taste of forbidden fruit, sweet
except when it’s not
That half-moon wheel of pungent cheese, exquisite
except when it’s not
the lure of an impeccable blend of flavors and
a plate of colors meant to entice, seductive
except when they are not
Perhaps a test…
because sometimes
that bounty of sweetness
borders on bitter and
the promise of palate pleasing beaufort d’ete
falls on the precarious side of bland
Perfection on a plate, in a life, not always so
Sometimes what’s said to be tasty
by one falls short for another
Things are not always the same
This is a truth I can accept

I think a good sense of humor is required to be able to handle the ironies of life. I hope you have a lovely weekend!

I agree with you. Life can be full of ironies, accepting could be the only choice left.
