Composure, that veil I wear to
overcompensate these fears
migrating between heart and soul
pausing just long enough to
linger beneath these words I write
and write again as I battle feelings
creeping, taunting, challenging
endlessly as the final product seems
never enough, never quite right ⸺
crisp is the page as I draw a deep breath and begin
yet again

Now I’m writing on recycled paper
Words of purpose and not useless

i like the flow of your words Michele, you explain the heart that wants to and yet the will that can be so weak we rebel between the two.
