Longing to linger in the days before
when unclaimed possibilities were free to soar,
to capture celestial intentions before they crashed
and dare to dream unabashed;
to have something to stand for
Even as a stone lion produced a menacing roar,
we were hungry for more and more
We added layers, a textured life unsurpassed
in the days before
How the invisible hands of time even a score
and simplify stories of yesterday and yore,
stealing hope once stashed and
rewriting reasons why we clashed
It makes us forget the magic and rapport
of the days before
