I wonder about things in life that disappear
These milestone moments that ebbed and flowed
creating memories, hazy and crystal clear
Some shimmer, ephemeral yet somehow near
like lights reflecting on a rainy road
I wonder about things in life that disappear
I mourn the loss of ones held dear
slipping through my hands as if borrowed
Creating memories, hazy and crystal clear
Some are strong enough to reappear
if only in dreams like a favorite episode
I wonder about things in life that disappear
I suppose we all seek visions from yesteryear
to replenish our spirits — a personal ode
to memories both hazy and crystal clear
With a smile and sometimes a tear
I am thankful to carry this heavy load
I wonder about the things in life that disappear
like memories, both hazy and crystal clear

The rhythm, the repetition, and the depth of thought that went into this poem drew me in and kept me rereading. It’s beautiful. A musician could find a melody to sing this one, It is so lyrical. Beautiful, {{{MK}}} ❤
