Especially during these autumn rains 

and especially in these times that are 

anything but ordinary, we pause

to embrace being open and exposed

 

As ones vulnerable, almost fragile,

we can find new words for an old language

and discover the truth that lies therein

No doubt, frailty begets strength and wisdom

 

Especially during these autumn rains

that wash away the promise of summer

we find opportunities for shelter

A special place to regenerate hope

 

Falling leaves choreograph the next steps

Snuggle in and study tomorrow’s dance
