Unraveling Chaos

Vying for a place to heal, trying to stop these tears I’m crying

In dreams, I’m flying above barricades and charades

immersed in the season of shades, one of blood red angst and dread

Steeling against chaos ahead, I claim a duty to find moments of beauty

Fleeting moments in this disarray, a chance to play and get away

A slice of pink in all the gray, a sanctuary, an emissary

Extraordinary, this moment of reprieve, this chance to relieve

I receive blessings of protection and some time for reflection

Gleaning meaning from nightmares intervening

days and nights of quarantining, both austere and full of fear

it somehow became quite clear – treasure each pleasure

Measure the gains, whether grand or plain

  1. Beautiful! The words you use to speak of difficult times make them look beautiful.

As I read the description of the style of poem, and it said absolutely no rhyming, except possibly inside the lines, it didn’t make any sense to me.
Reading your poem, it suddenly became very clear to me. Thank you for using such mastery to show us how it’s done. And at the same time, you managed to make the words flow, playfully, lightly,

You make it look easy, yet… yet it is obvious that it takes a lot of craft to master such a poem.
    You have my profound admiration!
